Anonymous Bookbinder is a small, hand bookbinding and conservation
workshop located in upstate New York. Its
purpose is to provide libraries and other collections holding institutions, as well as individuals and collectors,
with a reliable source for professional, high quality binding and conservation treatment services.
". . . the great
majority of binders of the early modern period are very obscure . . . about
many we know next to nothing, if that. Their main tangible bequest to
posterity resides in the books they bound, which exist in great numbers,
but beyond that they have left few traces."
David Pearson, English Bookbinding Styles:1450-1800.
